Jan. 27, 2008 - 3rd Sunday after Epiphany

Jesus preached the gospel of the kingdom and healed every infirmity among the people. (Matthew 4.23)

INTERCESSIONS

In our parish: we pray for our priest, Canon Neil Elliot. In the continuing cycle of prayer for our church family, today we lift in prayer and give thanks for: Charlie & Glenda S., Jennifer J., Geoff B., Gloria S.

We pray that God’s love will surround and support those in our community who are in the presence of life challenges… remembering especially: Chris A., Gwen A., Sandra B., Carleen C., Pauline C., Audrey D., Gertie D., Kay E., Bill & Pat F., Reg F., Connie G., Fred J., Glenna MacN., Gillian M., Ann McC., Gladys W., Kelly, Logan & Luke P., Dorothy W., Curtis, Rob.

In the community: we pray for the less fortunate who struggle to meet daily needs. We pray for staff, volunteers and families in the Hospice program.

In the diocese: we pray for Bishop John Privett. We pray for St. James, Armstrong; St. George’s, Enderby; St. Matthew’s, Mara, Cornelia Rundell, Incumbent. Members and Associates of the Order of Holy Cross.

In the national church: we pray for the national primate, the Most Rev. Fred J. Hiltz. We pray for the Diocese of Fredericton, Rt. Rev. Claude E.W. Miller

In the world: we pray for the people of the Zimbabwe. We pray for our political leaders, including Prime Minister Stephen, Premier Gordon, the mayors in our community, and all those in authority under them, that they may govern with wisdom, justice and compassion.

Shrove Tuesday—Pancake Supper - Tuesday, February 5th—5:00 to 7:00 pm. Please sign up in the Narthex if you will be attending. This will help Mission & Service determine how much food to purchase. Assistance is needed and lists are on the bulletin board.

St. Andrew/St. George Food Bank—February 12: Thank you again to all those who support and volunteer for our Food Bank We assisted 50 families in December and approx. 30 families in January. Besides canned protein (eg. fish, chicken, ham), and fruit, things like sugar, shampoo, laundry soap, toilet cleaners, toilet paper, salt and pepper are helpful donations. Your contributions are much appreciated!

Annual General Meeting With Finger Food Pot Luck Following: Sunday, February 24, 2008. One Service Only at 9:00 a.m.

Medieval Banquet: Friday, February 22—6:00 p.m. in the Lower Hall. This will be the first 2008 fundraiser for St. Andrew/St. George. Tickets are $35.00 per person. Volunteers are needed for the various sub-committees. Watch for further details or contact Martha F.
