WHAT'S NEW

THE PRIMATES WORLD RELIEF AND DEVELOPMENT FUND is commited to an inital $30,000 for relief efforts in Burma and an initial $10,000 to China. Funds received by midnight June 13 for Burma and midnight June 23 for China will be matched by The Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). All qualified donations must be paid to and receipted by PWRDF. You can give to these relief efforts by donating through parish offerings (mark offerings "PWRDF"), by telephone at 1-416-924-9199 ext. 320, or online at www.canadahelps.org (type in "PWRDF").

CREATING TRUSTWORTHY COMMUNITIES: A presentation of the Diocese of Kootenay, Saturday, June 14th, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at St. Andrew's. A full- day workshop designed to educate church leaders in the areas of power and vulnerability, boundary issues, sexual misconduct and tools to establish safe spaces and practices. The goal is to help church leaders become more self-aware of the influence they hold, to identify the risks that influence entails, to education on appropriate relational behaviour and to facilitate congregations establishing practices to make their community safe and trustworthy. Please register - forms are in the Narthex.

"GOD'S RE-CREATION", a festival of faith for all Anglicans in the Diocese of Kootenay. Thursday August 14 - Sunday August 17, Selkirk College, Castlegar. Information in Narthex.

WHAT'S NEW

PLP EXTENDING STORE HOURS: PLP are looking for volunteers to staff the store, Monday to Friday 1-4 p.m. Any amount of time you are able to volunteer will be very much appreciated. Please contact Ellen F.

MEALS ON WHEELS PROGRAM: This service is provided to some of the seniors in our area. As any other service, they rely on volunteers to provided the transportation in getting hot, nutritious meals to those who need them the most. Volunteers are needed in both Greater Trail and Rossland. Please phone the Salvation Army at 368-3515.

LIVING RICHER LIVES SERIES, Wednesdays, May 14th & 21st, 2-4 p.m. at St. Andrew's. A series of talks by professionals for seniors offering information on wills, investments, security and funerals. Guest speakers Anne Lessard, David Cox, George Braithwaite and John Boucher.

OUTREACH LUNCHEON FOR FOOD BANK RECIPIENTS, Sunday May 25th at noon in the Lower Hall. Our Mission & Service/Food Bank team will be preparing a Pot Luck luncheon for outreach to the community. Please mark financial donations "Food Bank Lunch" or bring food after the 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. services on Sunday, May 25th.
