THE JESSE TREE: We will be collecting unwrapped gifts for the TGIF people. Some examples of gifts would be hats, gloves, scarves, socks, toiletries, special coffees, tea, candy, writing paper, pens etc. Please place the gifts in the box provided under the tree. They will be picked up the week of Dec 22nd.

ALTAR GUILD REQUESTS DONATIONS FOR CHRISTMAS FLOWERS: The Altar Guild is requesting donations for Christmas flowers. Please see Nancy L., Jean Y. or Christina G. and write the information in the Flower Book in the Narthex, thanks!

BUDGET HIGHLIGHTS: Copies of the draft budget are available in the Narthex. You are welcome to take a copy home with you.

We would like to offer a ‘taste’ of Christmas to the Food Bank recipients again this year and ask if the congregation would be able to do some baking for the occasion—so our ministry team can prepare small trays of treats. Please bring the Christmas baking to the kitchen on Sunday, Dec. 7th.

TURKEY DOLLARS AT CHRISTMAS: Ferraro’s will credit our Food Bank with the total amount of Turkey dollars we submit at Christmas. If you collect Turkey dollars and don’t plan to use them, please put them in the green Ferraro Food slips bag in the Narthex!

FOOD BANK: Our coffers are very low. Your financial contributions are much appreciated! Donations of canned meat are also needed.

WHAT'S HAPPENING as of Nov. 23

CHRISTMAS FOOD BANK: Tuesday Dec. 9th. We would like to offer a "taste of Christmas" to the Food Bank recipients again this year and ask if the congregation would be able to do some baking for the occasion - so our ministry team can prepare small trays of treats. 2009 CHURCH ENVELOPES IN NARTHEX: The 2009 envelopes are available in the narthex for those who use this method of giving. If anyone else would like one for tax receipts please talk to Christina G.

SORRENTO CENTRE FALL SILENT MEDITATION RETREAT November 14-17 with Christopher and Heather Page. This will be a silent retreat with an address each morning, group meditation, corporate worship and evening dialogue-teaching. All meals will be taken in silence. Christopher Page is the rector of St. Philip’s Anglican Church in Victoria, B.C. He is the author of four books, most recently Spirit Life: Living the Fruit of God’s Spirit. Heather Page is the past administrator of the Contemplative Society, a certified presenter of Centering Prayer for Contemplative Outreach International and assists regularly in the leadership of silent retreats.
